Mission Statement
Operation Hood Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that educates on why trap-neuter-return (TNR) is the most effective and humane way to help with the overpopulation of community cats. We have established a safe haven for community cats that were rescued from Hood Drive in 2016 that we refer to as "The Fence". These cats will live out their days being loved and cared for daily.
Operation Hood is dedicated to the care and well-being of the cats that reside at “The Fence” and educating the public on the need to spay/neuter pets, the prevention of animal cruelty, responsible pet ownership, and actively encouraging TNR in the community. Operation Hood Inc. continues to provide a safe haven for the cats that reside at “The Fence.”

One Journey Ends, Another Begins
Operation Hood celebrated its 5th anniversary on January 2, 2021. We would like to take a moment to give an update on where we are today with our journey on Hood Drive. As many of you are aware, the situation when we began was an enormous undertaking. With help from dedicated volunteers, the support of the community, and cooperation of the land owner, we were able to trap and relocate the cats from Hood Drive to a non-disclosed location referred to as “The Fence.” The Fence is maintained by volunteers that care for the cats daily; feeding and maintaining the area in which the cats reside.
As we close one chapter we begin another. We have been asked what Operation Hood will do now that the cats at Hood Drive have been relocated? Operation Hood has focused on working with community outreach programs through our local shelters, educating the public on TNR, assisting with TNR within our community, and encouraging the community to take a stand and get involved to help make a difference! Our journey in the community has enabled us to meet some incredible and amazing heroes who give of their time to help community cats. As the years pass we remain dedicated to the care of the cats who were relocated in 2016 and who are now living their best life at a safe haven we call The Fence. We remain committed first and foremost to the promise made when they were relocated to ensure they are well cared and loved for daily. As of August 2024 we have had to "pause" accepting new TNR requests for assistance as we have been inundated with numerous requests and we simply cannot get to them all. We are more than willing to share ideas and resources regarding TNR during this time.
January of 2024 we celebrated our 8th YES 8th ANNIVERSARY as a small but oh so mighty group of passionate individuals who has been part of the change to make life a much happier and peaceful place for both community cats and ourselves. Life is good! Thank you all for your continued support and love as we could not do what we do without YOU!
